Example 1 - Set up an emergency information hotline
user requirements
I need to quickly set up an emergency information hotline on a freephone number.
My telephone system is unlikely to cope with the response.
step-by-step set-up instructions
This example is based on the Callagenix Information
Line service.
- From the Services menu, create a service of type information line
- call it something like Emergency Information Line.
- Edit the prompts for the information line to say the message you wish to
provide.
- Edit the Call answer properties of the service. In this type of service
you would probably wish to set the information message to repeat continually.
You can specify a maximum length of the call which you should also set if
you elect to have the information message repeat. Unless you need to keep
the telephone numbers of your callers you should turn off the option to Add
to Callers, otherwise each individual callers details will be saved.
- You should now be in a position to test your service by dialling the allocated
test number and PIN. Amend the prompts and settings and retest your service
as much as you wish until you are satisied with the result.
- When you are satisfied you should then get a number as described in Making
a Service Live and purchase the relevant operating voucher depending on
expected call volumes.
- You have the peace of mind of knowing that the Callagenix systems are capable
of handling many thousands of calls per hour.
