Example 8 - Making recordings of outbound calls

user requirements

I want to call the garage to book my car in for a service but they always seem to charge me more than they quoted. I would like to set up a service where it will record the conversation so that I can keep it for future reference.

step-by-step set-up instructions

This example is based on the Callagenix Call Recording service.

It uses mail boxes to store recordings.

  1. From the Services menu, create a service of type Call Recording- call it something like Record My Calls.
  2. From the Mail Boxes menu, create a mail box that you wish to use to save your call recordings into (See Example 3 for more information on setting up a mail box).
  3. In the Call Answer option of the Record My Calls service, select the mailbox you created in step 2 against the Save Recordings into mail box setting.
  4. Now dial the test number and PIN combination of the Record My Calls service and enter your account authentication PIN. You will be requested to enter a telephone number to dial. The system will dial this number and you will be connected immediately the call is answered at the other end. The call will be recorded and distributed as per your settings against your mail box.
